1 · What Sugalink is and what we sell
Sugalink is a dating platform between verified adults, operated under the sugalink.com domain. We connect people who want to invite with people who want to receive invitations for a First Date at a public venue from our curated list or by video call inside the app. The only thing Sugalink sells is software: unlocking the conversation once an invitation has been accepted. We do not sell, broker or guarantee meetings, relationships or outcomes of any kind.
2 · Eligibility and verification
18+ only. Every account goes through identity verification with an official document and a liveness check, on both sides and before any interaction. The inviting side additionally verifies income or net worth to obtain the corresponding badge. Accounts that try to evade verification, that are operated by third parties, or where there are indications that the account holder is a minor, are suspended immediately and reported to the authorities where appropriate. We may require a fresh liveness check when a sign-in is detected from a new device.
3 · The invitation and the First Date
Inviting is free. The invitation is a structured form: a venue chosen from the receiving side's list (or a video call, if they enabled it), two or three proposed times, the rate already visible, and an optional message of up to 200 characters. The receiving side may accept by choosing a time, counter-offer another venue or time from their own list, or decline. An unanswered invitation expires after 72 hours, at no cost to anyone. Each inviting person may hold a maximum of five pending invitations at a time.
4 · The First Date rate (it never passes through Sugalink)
The receiving side sets a rate that compensates exclusively their time and presence during the First Date, at a public venue or by video call. That money is paid directly between the two people, in cash or by transfer between them. Sugalink does not process it, does not hold it, takes no commission, and does not record or confirm its payment: the app merely displays the agreed amount. Any dispute about that rate is a matter between users; Sugalink is not a party to that agreement and does not refund money it never held. That said, failing to pay the agreed rate is a conduct breach under these terms (section 8).
5 · The conversation unlock (our only charge)
When an invitation is accepted, the person who invited may unlock the conversation by paying a flat fee of US$19, shown before payment and invoiced as a digital service. The unlock opens the chat with that person, with no time limit and no per-message charge, and it does not expire. Unlocking the conversation with another person requires a new payment. If the unlock is not paid within 24 hours of acceptance, the acceptance expires and this is recorded in the inviting person's history. Paying the unlock buys communication: it does not guarantee the date will happen, does not depend on it happening, and is not refunded merely because it does not happen, except in the cases in section 6.
6 · Refunds, credits and disputes
The unlock is not refundable once the conversation has been used, contact details have been exchanged, or the date has been recorded. Where a refund does apply — a proven no-show by the other person, or a cancellation after payment — the value is credited as balance within Sugalink and never to the original payment method. A maximum of one refund per month per person is allowed. A no-show claim may only be filed between 30 minutes and 3 hours after the agreed time; if that window passes with no claim, the date is deemed to have taken place and the right to a refund is lost. Claims are resolved on evidence (arrival records, chat activity within the date window, confirmations and history), never on one party's statement alone. A proven false claim is a breach. Disputing the charge with your card issuer instead of using this procedure suspends the account until it is resolved. Credits are not money, earn no interest, are not transferable and cannot be converted into cash; any statutory withdrawal or refund rights under applicable law are honoured in any event.
7 · Date day: confirmation, arrival and code
Both parties confirm attendance 24 hours in advance. On the day, each person may record their arrival from the app, which validates their presence near the venue and within the agreed time window; that record is voluntary and serves as evidence in their favour. There is also a four-digit code that the receiving side may share at the meeting to record that the date took place. Neither the arrival record nor the code is mandatory, and neither one conditions any charge. Sugalink shows arrival statuses within a short window around the agreed time; under no circumstances does it perform real-time location tracking.
8 · Conduct, strikes and removal
The following are prohibited: offering, soliciting or implying sexual services in exchange for money; harassment, coercion and violence; impersonation and accounts operated by third parties; the presence of minors; and sharing other users' content without their consent. Profiles and conversations are moderated with technology and a human team. We operate an evidence-based strike system: proven no-shows, failure to pay the agreed rate, repeated cancellations, false claims and conduct breaches accumulate strikes that pause, suspend or remove the account. If the receiving side cancels while reporting misconduct and the report is validated, the cancellation does not affect their standing, the inviting person does not recover the unlock fee, and the applicable sanction is imposed on them. Blocking and reporting are free and available on every screen.
9 · Photos and content
You are responsible for the content you publish and must have the right to use it. The standard is the same for public and private photos: swimwear is allowed; nudity and sexually explicit content are prohibited and moderated in both. Access to private photos is granted person by person and can be revoked at any time; it is never sold and never charged for. Each private photo may be displayed with a mark identifying whoever is viewing it: sharing it outside the platform makes the leaker identifiable and is grounds for removal, without prejudice to any legal action.
10 · Suspended accounts
Accounts are not erased from our safety records: they are suspended. Traceability of suspended accounts is part of our anti-trafficking and anti-abuse protocol and is retained for the applicable legal periods. This does not affect your right to request erasure of your personal data under the Privacy Policy and the law.
11 · Liability
Sugalink provides the foundations — identity and age verification, curated public venues, safety and reputation tools — but is not a party to agreements, relationships or meetings between users, does not supervise what happens off the platform, and guarantees no outcome. Act with care and follow our safety guides. Nothing in these terms limits liabilities that the law does not permit to be limited.
12 · Changes and governing law
We may update these terms; material changes are announced with reasonable notice. For users in Chile, Chilean law applies; for other markets, the local adaptations published on each version of the site — in the UK, including our duties under the Online Safety Act. Contact: team@sugalink.com.
